I am Waheed Qureshi, Founder and Analytical Historian of Centuries Untold.
I know how frustrating historical research can be when you cannot confidently say: Yes, I know what happened, who reported it, and where to find the source.
In my own research, I found that historical claims are often repeated everywhere, while the original or most relevant source can be surprisingly difficult and time-consuming to find. That experience inspired Centuries Untold.
I started my YouTube channel with the same purpose: to examine history through the lens of evidence, not simply through the narrative of whoever happened to win.
Much of what we believe about the past reaches us through layers of retelling. Somewhere beneath those layers is the source itself. But primary sources are not automatically the truth. They must also be questioned: Who wrote it? When? How close were they to the event? What were their loyalties or biases? And what do other sources say?
The historical record is incomplete. Some accounts survived; others disappeared through war, neglect, censorship, or deliberate destruction. Understanding what survived, and why, is part of understanding history.
That is the idea behind Centuries Untold. We help you find the original sources, understand where they came from, translate them into English from the original language, and determine what can reasonably be verified.
We find the sources. You examine the evidence. You decide what it means.
Our purpose

“Where history meets its sources”
Centuries Untold is two things: a historical reference desk and a forum for historical debate.
The reference desk helps you find real sources on a historical topic: primary accounts, chronicles, books, academic research, translations, and other relevant material, and shows you what can be verified about them.
The forum is where the discussion begins. Historians, researchers, students, and anyone serious about history can examine those sources, compare competing accounts, challenge interpretations, and debate what the evidence actually means.
Centuries Untold is not an archive. We do not hold manuscripts, and we do not publish scholarship of our own.
Our role is deliberately narrower: we help you find the sources, tell you what we can verify about them, and then get out of the way.
The sources provide the evidence. You decide what the evidence means.
